Mask in the moment: Choosing the right face mask
There’s nothing better than the feeling of self-care – the extra time you can focus on you, your skin care routine, and to just slow down and… relax! Masking is loved by most, and masks come in many different forms (sheet mask, clay mask, hydration mask, etc.) with an array of benefits. It’s time for you, so make sure you are choosing the best face mask to benefit you and your skin goals. We’ve created this guide to layout your options so you can easily make the right choice.
Benefit of face masks?
Face Masks are a performance treatment, at least weekly, added into your existing basic skincare routine, to target specific skin concerns and enhance your skin goals. Whether you need to intensely hydrate, prevent premature skin aging, control acne flare-ups or repair environmental damage, there’s a mask to help! They blanket the skin, providing a high concentration of ingredients for an immediate effect. Masks are especially more productive if done directly after exfoliating, as the active ingredients will penetrate on a clean, exfoliated skin much better.
When & how should I use a face mask?
Always apply your mask to CLEANSED, dry skin. Typically, you would use at least once a week, but depending on the type of mask, it could be more (we’ll explain below).
Steps:
- Cleanse
- Exfoliate (1x per week)
- Apply mask
- Remove mask
- Apply serum
- Apply moisturizer
